Our Story
Mainspring Wellness began with a simple but powerful question: How do we make high-quality therapy accessible to everyone, in an environment that feels safe and welcoming? Founders Matt Arnzen and Chris Morandi, both experienced mental health professionals, met while working in a community mental health center. There, they noticed a troubling divide in mental health care. On one side was community mental health, serving low-income populations in stark, windowless offices under harsh fluorescent lights. On the other was private practice, offering warm, inviting environments but primarily catering to higher-income clients.
Matt and Chris knew it didn’t have to be this way. They envisioned a space that blended the best of both worlds: a comfortable, welcoming environment offering high-quality, evidence-based treatment to those who might not typically have access. That vision became Mainspring Wellness.
The name “Mainspring” reflects their mission: to be a chief motivating force in improving mental health, much like the driving gears of a clock. Paired with “Wellness,” it underscores their belief that mental and physical health go hand in hand, both essential to living a fulfilling life.
At Mainspring Wellness, therapy is more than just a conversation; it’s a transformative process. It’s about understanding emotions, learning how to navigate them, solving problems, and making decisions rooted in personal values.
